Immigration Relief & Deportation Cases

When a client receives a “Notice to Appear” in immigration court, we work diligently to prepare for the case by quickly gathering affidavits from character witnesses and other supporting documentation to help our client apply for immigrant relief if available. We also prepare a well-organized argument to present to the government to demonstrate why relief should be granted. We have been successful in having removal proceedings terminated based on organized case preparation and communication with the government on the case. “Detention and Deportation Defense”: Jail visits with detained clients at David L. Moss Justice Center (ICE Holding Facility in Tulsa), Haskell Detention Center, and other facilities that house detained clients.

Prosecutorial Discretion & Administrative Closure

The U.S. government has taken action to Administratively Close deportation cases against individuals who are considered “low priority” by exercising Prosecutorial Discretion. What this means is that once an individual is put into removal/deportation proceedings, the U.S. government may review the individual’s case to determine whether removal of that individual would be in the best interest of the United States. Some considerable factors are the community and familial ties to the U.S. that the individual has. Attorneys at AB Law step in as advocates for individuals by ensuring that the U.S. government has all facts of their individual client matters so that their clients may remain in the U.S. Further, some clients may be eligible to apply and renew previously issued work authorization if their case is Administratively Closed.
